winter is here

yesterday it was 70-some degrees...this was today.

This past weekend we headed down to St. George with the Stewart family where their parents own a vacation home. Avery experienced her first sleepover ever - she and Katelyn slept on an air matress in the office. The eventually fell asleep all three nights and even slept well! Every morning we would wake up to them quietly playing tea party. It was quite adorable, but I can't believe how much our little girl is growing up!
While down in "Dixie" we hiked, swam, went to the dinosaur museum to see fossilized dino tracks, and visited some local church history sites. We all had a great time!

First Day of School

Yesterday was Avery's first day of pre-school. She was so excited that she couldn't fall asleep the night before and woke up at 6:30 in the morning yelling "the sun is up, it's time for school!" I walked her into pre-school because I wanted to take a few pictures, but she refused to look at me and told me school was starting and I needed to leave. Nice to feel loved! She had a great time and is excited for a fun year. (Notice her cool orange bag that her teacher gave her full of fun goodies at the open house last week)
