Aidan's mouth full of "cwockwate" - can you tell Avery was a little tired because we had to wake her up early to see her Easter basket?
Okay, so I have complained about having 1:00 church for FOUR YEARS in a row (and counting). GrammaBecky's church is at 9am -- which is normally my favorite time to have it. However, we found that Easter morning is a little difficult when you have to be up, ready for church, and have time for the kids to see their Easter baskets by 9. So family pictures were taken after church and Avery was sad because we didn't have time to curl her hair. I think if we ever escape 1pm church, we might ask the Easter bunny to visit our house on Saturday night.
We had a nice Easter afternoon and Becky fixed a delicious Easter dinner with ham, funeral potatoes, green beans, salad, deviled eggs, rolls, and a yummy dessert with angel food cake, pudding, and raspberries. Grandma Great brought her famous danish dessert.

Boise
For Easter, we took a trip up to Boise to visit Gramma Becky, Grampa Terry, Emy, and Tom. We went to the park, saw the geese, colored Easter eggs, roasted marshmallows, Grampa cooked us a dutch oven dinner (best potatoes ever), and just had a great weekend. We also got to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Great as well as Grandma and Grandpa Smith. The kids especially enjoyed Gramma's and Grampa's play area. Aidan kept sneaking out the dog door without shoes, socks, or jacket. We found him climbing the rock wall and sliding down the slide on several occasions. He thought he was big stuff!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Guess who came to our house today...a little green leprechaun named Lucky. He snuck in our front door and left a trail of green footprints leading to the fridge where he turned the milk green. His footprints then led to the back door where he must have escaped. On the table he left Avery and Aidan three pieces of green candy and some coloring pages. As you can imagine, the kids were very excited.

Uncle Nick
This weekend Uncle Nick came to town to recruit for the his law school. The kids (especially Avery) were so excited that he was coming. We had a fun weekend -- Nick even made us delicious banana pancakes. On Sunday night, Adam and Sara came over for dinner. Avery helped make the dessert and was very proud of her chocolate eclair cake. She was also introduced to the Wii and beat her Uncle Nick at golf fair and square. The kids loved to see baby Macey (baby Macey was a VERY good sport!). Unfortunately we only have two pictures from the entire weekend. Enjoy.

A Rocky Day
We made prayer rocks tonight for FHE. We had perfect spring weather this afternoon, so the kids and I went out for a walk to find two rocks. While we were out, they got to try out the new addition to our neighborhood - a playground - and it is just around the corner from our house! We are all so excited (except for Aidan who is a little scared of playgrounds). The rocks turned out great. Unfortunately I have already had to confiscate Aidan's rock as he has thrown it twice, dropped it, and was sliding it across the floor while crawling. You would never know from Avery's cute little innocent smile while she was holding her prayer rock that today was probably her most whiny/criey/tantrumy day in at least a year. We survived and even pulled off FHE - barely. Oh, and a big shout out to cousin Keety....happy birthday, we love you!

Bird Nests
Aidan's favorite way to taste food.
The other night we made Easter bird nests. In the past, I have made these with Chinese noodles, chocolate, and peanut butter. This year I tried a new recipe. Basically they are rice crispie treats with All Bran in place of the rice crispies. Although they look more authentic, they taste sick. We WON'T opt for the healthier alternative next year!

Favorite Games
The kids invented this little game yesterday. They did the bunny hop non-stop for 45 minutes.
This is Aidan's version of "helping" me fold the laundry.
