More From Portland

We arrived in Portland on Friday night (07/20) where we stayed with Nick, Lachelle, and Keyton. We enjoyed a lot of outside walks in the wonderful cloudy, sprinkly, 70-some degree weather - I now know why so many people rave about the pac-nw. The trip included a visit to the Saturday market, Powell's Books, the Oregon coast (pictures coming later), Multanomah Falls, and blueberry picking.

Pound of Dirt

We recently returned from a crazy 6 day trip to Portland. We drove to Boise on Thursday July 19, spent the night, and picked up Gramma Becky and Grampa Terry. While we were packing the car for Portland on Friday morning, Aidan discovered the massive pile of bark in Gramma's driveway. He had no problem conquering the mountain and eating several mouthfuls of dirt.

Can I Be a Good Mom Too?

So today Avery is officially 3 years, 9 months, and 9 days old. As we were getting ready for church today, I realized I had never french braided by own daughter's hair. Imagine all the cute little girls at church with braided hair...and my daugher has never been one of them. I decided this trend must not continue and I did what all the other good moms do...braided her hair. I must admit it turned out amazingly well, especially considering I haven't braided hair since girls camp. Too bad she wouldn't turn her head the right way for the picture...you get the idea though.

Tonight I made a fresh fruit salad to eat with dinner. Since I am a sugar addict, I placed a small bowl of powdered sugar on the table so I could lightly sprinkle the healthy fruit with yummy goodness. While I was loading the dishwasher after dinner, Aidan apparently climbed onto the table and began partaking. Needless to say, he was not happy when I took the sugar away.

Boondocks

This year, Mikey's company had their annual summer party at Boondocks. Mikey was able to get a couple extra tickets so my mom and Whitney could come along. Avery was in heaven the entire night. She loved the bumper boats, miniture golf, and arcade games, but nothing could beat the go-carts...Aidan's favorite event of the night was miniture golf even though he basically just stole our ball and ran away every time we tried to actually play the game.

My mom (Grandma Raine) came to visit June 15 - July 4. One of the fun things we did while she was in town was head up to Heber for a picnic and a ride on the Heber Creeper. Evan, Bridget, and Whitney came with us. I should remind everyone that Mikey and I had our first date on this little train. (Needless to say, the date went well).

Time to play blog catch-up...the beginning of June, Keyton and Lachelle came to visit along with Grandma Becky, Grandpa Terry, and Emily. Unfortunately this is just about the only picture we have of the visit (if anyone else has some, please email them to us). After playing in the mud pit that is our backyard, Keyton and Aidan got to take a nice little bath together. Notice how modest these kids were for the camera as they hide their jewels behind a bar of soap and a cup. Nice work boys.
