The Car Bar

Carly finally came to spend a little time with us before she went home for the summer. I thought I was going to get her for a week, but only ended up having her for just over 24 hours...we had a lot of fun to pack into a short amount of time.

We started with a quick stop at Ikea followed by three different grocery store visits (don't even ask why it took that many). We cooked dinner (inspired by Nick and Lachelle food in Boise) and went out for a quick trip to The King's English. I love that little bookstore. We finished the night off with watching The King's Speech.

In the morning, we headed up to Red Butte Garden. I had to show her my new favorite place on Earth. Too bad it was freezing and we were in sandals. We headed to 9th and 9th to window shop at things we will never be able to afford (or will never be stupid enough to spend that much money on). After dropping Aidan off at school for his field trip riding Trax (bustrain), we went to Red Rock for lunch. Then it was off to the airport to say goodbye...

...and then she was gone.

Eggs and Easter

After the Easter egg hunt and before the kids went to bed, Gramma dyed Easter eggs with them. Who doesn't love to dye eggs? Their favorite thing is to make dinosaur eggs (just like their Dad).

The kids donned their new jammies from Gramma, enjoyed the fun treats in their baskets, and hunted for the Easter eggs around the house. Nick, Lachelle, Keyton, Lola, and Tom came over soon after for brunch. It was a much needed get away needed just before finals week.

Gramma Becky's Awesome Egg Hunt

Ready, Set, Go...

Gramma Becky put on a fabulous Easter egg hunt for the kids. Each kid had their own color of eggs. This allowed older kids to have eggs hidden in harder places and also ensured equal amounts of eggs for everyone. (Lucy's loot had to be regulated a bit since she just picked up any egg she saw). After the egg hunt, we roasted hot dogs on the fire pit, ate yummy food, visited with Grandma Rasmussen, and the kids got their own Easter basket filled with prizes from Gramma. Thanks Gramma for a fun night!

More Fun in Boise

Like all children in Boise, Lucy loves Moose's doggie door.

Aidan had a great time helping Grampa with projects. He went with Grampa and Mikey to the dump, the recycling center, the coin sorting machine at the grocery store, and helped Grampa with gravel for the playground area.

Gramma Becky had lots of cute crafts for the kids to color, cut, and paste. Even Lucy got in on the craftiness this year.

Where Did My Baby Go?

Thursday, April 21, 2011, my sweet little Aidan lost his first tooth. That morning, I was coming home from the gym and he was standing at the front door waiting for me. He was grinning ear to ear and holding his tooth which he had wiggled right out as soon as he woke up. I jumped and squealed a bit before he told me to stop because I was embarrassing him.

Since we were driving to Boise that day, he was a little nervous that the tooth fairy's wings would get too tired trying to find him. Fortunately, he woke up the next morning to a dollar bill under his pillow and all was well.

Lunch in the Park

After the farmer's market, we headed to the park for lunch from Fanci Freez (sp?) and for playground time.

Easter Weekend In Boise

Who knew Boise had such a big and impressive farmer's market? I was very impressed.

Lucy spent a lot of the weekend looking like this...

Easter Egg Hunt #2

One of the best things about living in student housing is all of the fun, free activities. Saturday there was an Easter party with the Easter Bunny, seed planting, games, cotton candy, popcorn, balloons, and an egg hunt.

We started the morning with breakfast at Corner with the Falks. Avery headed down with the Fidas to the party and we followed a few minutes behind.

Aidan was not in the picture taking mood. He and Harrison just wanted that egg hunt to start. I couldn't get him to look at me and smile for anything.

Lucy loved this Easter egg hunt even more than the first...she now knows there is candy inside the eggs.
