Happy Birthday Avery

Avery turned 5 on Monday. I can't believe my baby is five. Monday morning Avery opened her presents before Mikey went to work. Much to her surprise, she got BOTH Barbie and the Diamond Castle dolls - She had been told that she would probably only get one. Since Monday morning, those dolls have gone everywhere with her. She even sleeps with them. The only thing that is a little annoying about the dolls is that they sing...over and over and over and then I continue to sing their little songs over and over and over in my head. Someday the batteries will die.

At 10:30, eight of Avery's friends came over for her party. Will I ever do a birthday party again with 9 little girls and Aidan by myself? No way. However, everything did go very well and Avery had a great time. To top it all off, one of her friends even gave her the Barbie and the Diamond Castle movie to go with her dolls. I cannot explain how excited she was, especially since I told her I was not going to get it for her. Thank goodness for friends...and Barbies!!! just kidding - I am a little Barbied out.

The rest of the day we recovered from the party. You should have seen my house after the girls left! Mikey brought Avery's favorite food home for dinner - Chinese from the Mandarin. Yum. Avery had a great day. I love seeing my cute little girl so happy!

As a bonus, Mike can play with the Barbies when Avery is done with them. He's always been the barbie type...
