Happy 3rd of July

You would think this is how our day ended, Instead, this is how it began. Lucy didn't sleep well the night before so she had a hard time waking up for the festivities. First stop: ward breakfast.

Second stop: Kaysville City Parade - this parade is awesome. First a regular small town parade followed by a water parade where the trucks/floats spray water at the crowd and the crowd brings water guns, balloons, etc to fight back. This year the parade part went a little long and the water part was too short.

Emily came with us to participate in all the fun. Can't you tell how happy she is because she loves us?

Mikey was scouting out the sidelines to see where he could stand with the kids to get the most candy.

Before the parade starts, all the kids look cool, happy, and well-rested.

Aidan, of course, had to protect himself from all the loud fire trucks.

By the end of the parade, the kids had been standing for almost 2.5 hours and they were tired.

Third stop: home for some lunch and naps. After Lucy woke up, I took her outside for some modeling. Seriously, this kid is cute. She was waving, trying to take her hat off, trying to put her hat back out, and then playing peek-a-boo (she even said "peek-a-pee" while hiding behind the hat).

When everyone woke up, Emily and I went to the store to get some food. We ended up making spaghetti for dinner. Un-American? I agree, but we don't have a grill right now, so no cooking out. Our final destination was a random overlook place we sort of off-roaded to in order to watch the Sugarhouse fireworks. We will definitely go back to this place next year. Awesome view, zero traffic, and zero walking amongst bizillions of people.

Emily took this picture in the car on the way home to document that I was part of the day. I think the greyish hue of my skin in this picture depicts my tiredness from all the fun.
