On July 17, we moved to student housing at the University of Utah. Living in east Salt Lake is awesome. We are two minutes from the closest canyon and have already gone on a handful of hikes. For family night, we decided to go exploring above This Is the Place park. We thought we would only walk up a few hills, but ended up hiking for quite a while.


This is Smiley Hiker. Avery assigned all of us with official hiker labels.

Hiker Dad carries Hiker Baby because he didn't think we should take the Kelty pack. I bet he regretted that choice after only a few minutes. He also decided to wear Crocs instead of tennis shoes...definitely regretted that one.

Hiker Jazzy Jazz was smart enough to at least strap on the Baby Bjorn to help relieve Hiker Dad on the descent.

Smiley Hiker and Fast Face discovered a nice red ant farm. Aidan decided to "play with fire" by kneeling right by the ants. Luckily the one that crawled up his leg didn't bite him.

Smiley Hiker brought along Pippi for the adventure.



Hiker Baby LOVES to hike - maybe because she gets a nice ride every time.

Sometimes Fast Face isn't really all that fast and thinks he needs to sit on rocks to rest.

Other recent hikes have included Hidden Falls, a hike up Millcreek Canyon (love this place) and a little walk around the Temple Quarry Trail.
