California Adventure

Disney day 2: California Adventure

In order to see princesses at Disneyland these days, you either have to wait in line for hours not knowing who you are in line to see (you might get a good princess, you might get a wonky one), or shell out a ridiculous amount of cash for a character dining experience at Ariel's Grotto. Feeling a little bad that we didn't get Avery to Disneyland during her obsession with Cinderella (if you remember, when Aidan was born, Avery became Cinderella and often wouldn't respond to her own name - we were a little concerned to say the least), we hoped to salvage the magic for her and booked a lunch reservation.

Lucy didn't like Ariel at all...she still hates strangers.

Avery loved getting her picture taken with the princesses and getting their autographs. She has her scrapbook that we are going to make all planned out. Thankfully, her experience wasn't ruined by the little girl puking at the next table whose mother refused to leave because she wanted her poor, sick, crying, puking daughter to get her picture with the princesses. Wow.

On our way out of the restaurant, we ran into this guy again. Aidan was so excited to see Mickey is his "other" clothes.

Aidan wanted to ride Mickey's Fun Wheel REALLY badly. He wanted to ride in the cars that slid back and forth. BELIEVE YOU ME those sliding cars look a lot more fun on the ground. Poor Aidan was screaming and crying, "Mickey's fun wheel isn't very fun." Unfortunately, while we were at the top of the ferris wheel, they had an ever-so-long delay while they cleaned up some pukage...poor Aidan was so scared.

Lucy, on the other hand, loved it and thought she was flying.

Lucy also loved the Disney Junior show and got rather involved.

Can't go to Disneyland without eating one of these...or cotton candy...or hand-dipped corn dogs...or Mickey suckers. Speaking of suckers, I think we got suckered out of a lot of money in three days at this place!

The California Screamin' roller coaster was Avery's favorite. That girl will ride anything once. She even rode the Tower of Terror, but it got her pretty good and she wouldn't go ride it with me. Aidan loved Bug World, especially the little caterpillar train. We stayed to watch the World of Color show, but didn't get the full effect because we didn't have good seats. The fountains were still lovely. The night ended with the Woody ride, which everyone liked.

Avery, California Screamin' was definitely my favorite ride, too! Followed by Toy Story. I'm so glad you guys had such a great time!! :)
