Mandatory Gingerbread house building/decorating -Aidan's Christmas concert
Avery's Christmas concert
The student stake's Primary Christmas party
None of my kids would sit on Santa's lap. We were the first (and only?) kids to show up; however, there was an Asian college kid who just got to the US that came to see Santa. She was jumping up and down because she was so excited to get her picture taken with an American Santa Claus. It was awesome. Lucy saw Santa walking in and said, "I luff Santa Claus" but as soon as he walked in the door, she was so scared she wouldn't even look at him. Avery said that it seemed to baby-ish for her to sit on a fake Santa's lap and ask for stuff for Christmas. She said if it was the real Santa, she would have done it. Aidan at least stood by him and told him what he wanted for Christmas. At least we got doughnuts and kid temperature friendly hot chocolate?
Neighbor treatsOne of our Christmas traditions is reading a Christmas book a night. At the beginning of the month, I wrap all of our books and but them under the tree. Each night, the kids take turns unwrapping books as part of our Christmas countdown. It started as a 12 days of Christmas countdown. Now we start on Dec 1 and have to read two books almost every night.
